Thank You, DVDs Available Soon, IMDb

Posted in Cast & Crew, News, Press, Updates on February 14th, 2009 by Michael

It has literally taken Rebecca The Producer and I this full week to even BEGIN to rest, following the New York screenings of Sex and Justice. Throw in the fact that we both had to hit the day job circuit hard in an effort to like - find an apartment to live in! - and you have the reason for the long delay between the screenings and our finally saying…

…thank you to all who came. While two of our four crowds were admittedly a bit thinner than we would have liked, two weren’t, friends and family showed up in overwhelming numbers, and, additionally, we didn’t really encounter any dissatisfied “customers” after all was said and done.

In fact, some people seemed to be genuinely fired up after watching what we are heretofore referring to as “our twisted little darling.”

And if you are one of those people…please speak up. As our own Richard Brundage pointed out in the Q&A portion of our Friday screenings - if you genuinely enjoyed the film (and the fine performances therein) the easiest way you can support the cause is to hit up IMDb to rate the flick and leave some feedback. It just takes a few minutes of your time, and we will be forever grateful. Of course, if you didn’t like Sex and Justice you can leave us some feedback as well, but if that’s the case you probably aren’t reading this.

Some quick updates:

Sex and Justice DVDs will be going on sale soon in the Store section of our web site.

Special features include a blooper reel, a slideshow of production stills, and several great interviews with select members of the Cast and Crew. Visit the Sex and Justice web site soon to pick up a DVD if you missed one of our screenings, live somewhere else but still want to join the fun, or…just want to support the cause. Copies of the Sex and Justice theatrical poster will also be sold through the store, and the poster is actually really sweet, so you should pick one of those up too.

We are working on a new trailer for the film.

The new trailer, while still very much in line with our sexy artsy indie noirish vibe, is grounded quite a bit more in the sort of trailer aesthetic that we are all used to seeing (in other words, it’s a trailer-trailer and not a teaser). Every attempt was made to get this trailer ready before our New York screenings, but in the end we didn’t want to rush it (or the friend who has been working to put it together) out of respect both to you, the audience, and the quality of the thing itself. Look for this to come out maybe around the beginning of the month.

Please also check out the Press page, which has been updated to include a link to an article in the Columbia Spectator as well as an interview that yours truly did with Eitan Kensky at Bostonist.com.

I think there are more updates but my brain is still feeling squishy and I can’t remember them.

Check out the entertainment news blog for WBRU (Brown University Radio) for a podcast recording of an interview that Rebecca The Producer and I did with WBRU’s Eric Johnson shortly before the big premiere in Providence.

Our fantastically wonderful Production Manager Jenn Keogh also joined in on the fun.

Or I guess everyone can just go watch it on the web.

EDIT: The link has unfortunately come down by now. But trust me, the video was there!
